The studies of Ahmed Hammad Saeed try to achieve the following objects:
- to investigate work practices and labor conditions of artisanal gold mining in Um Badir, including challenges and risks that face gold miners in the area
- to understand the social organization of the mining community including institutional arrangements
- to explain the relationships between gold miners and the local community in the area
- to find out the impacts of artisanal gold mining on mining community and livelihood patterns in the area
